Salespeople work on a commission, journalists are paid by the word, websites and publications must cater to their advertisers first, their readers second.

I work on a flat rate for the consumer. Most people in this industry review one specially prepared car provided by the manufacturer. My test cars are randomly selected at dealerships. Journalists drive one car and write their piece, I insist on driving every model and mechanical combination so I can suggest the setup that will best suit my clients' needs.

I'm interested in the ownership experience, something that can't be expressed by horsepower numbers, 0-60 times, and the badge on the trunk.

I've worked behind the scenes at dealerships, spent time on staff at a major car magazine and trained service and salespeople for the major manufacturers. I've edited automotive books and been consulted in the preparation of articles for radio, internet and print distribution. I've driven professionally and worked with engineers to make the cars they are designing better than they ever imagined possible.

Everyone else you'll encounter is trying to sell you something for their benefit - I'm simply offering knowledge specific to your needs so you can protect youself from regret.
